CleanSlate UV Albany Airport

Airports and CleanSlate UV Partner to Sanitize Passenger Cell Phones at Albany Int’l Airport

Partnership will allow airport passengers to disinfect cell phones, tablets and other devices in just 20 seconds using UV light.

Avports and CleanSlate UV have announced a pilot initiative to provide cell phone sanitizing stations at Albany International Airport. The pilot is part of Avports’ Safe Hands initiative to keep spaces sanitized and support traveller’s and employees’ health through the pandemic.

The chemical-free stations will use UV-C light to sanitize handheld items such as smartphones, tablets, ID badges, watches, keys and credit cards.

As airports continue to navigate the challenges of the pandemic, hand hygiene is a major focus for staff and passengers who often touch their phones immediately after washing their hands.

CleanSlate UV unit has been shown to kill a minimum of 99.995% of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in just 20 seconds.
